Lee Taft, Owner and Director, brings nearly two decades of experience working with athletes of all levels and abilities. He is recognized internationally as one of the leading experts in multi-directional speed training. He serves as the Vice President of the International Youth Conditioning Association (IYCA) which was established to educate the youth sporting and fitness industry on issues of youth conditioning. Lee is also the president of Sports Speed, Etc.,  Inc., a sports performance consulting and  resource business with the purpose of providing coaches, trainers, athletes, physical therapist and other fitness professionals with cutting edge training information. Lee is one of the most sought after speakers and clinician in the U.S. and Canada. He has presented for organizations such as Perform Better, Equinox Fitness, Ryan Lee Boot Camp seminars, Canadian Basketball Super Conference and many others. He also writes for many online magazines, newsletters and websites including SportSpecific.com, PowerBasketball.com, Tennis One and PTontheNet.com.

Even though Lee has worked with athletes from the professional levels all the way to the younger athletes, his true passion is to see pre-adolescent through high school athletes enter into a long-term development program.

Kyle Sottung, Sport Performance Coach, started his athletic career at  Pulaski High School in Pulaski, NY, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Kyle earned his B.S. in Exercise Science from Ithaca College, where he was a pitcher on the baseball team and set career records for wins (29), strikeouts (223), and innings pitched (268.2).He signed a professional contract with the Richmond Roosters of the independent Northern League in 2005. After being released, Kyle went back to Ithaca College to earn his Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences/Exercise Physiology as the graduate assistant baseball coach under Hall of Fame Head Coach George Valesente. 

 

Kyle is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).  He has experience designing and implementing functional and strength training programs for athletes of all ages and ability levels. Jon Hudak, Adult Fitness Coach, is a 2001 graduate of Corinth High School in upstate, NY where he played football, basketball and baseball. After Corinth, he went on to receive a B.A. in Biology from Hartwick College, where he also played 4 years of varsity baseball as an all-around player by starting games at 7 different positions in his senior year. Jon then went on to earn his M.S. in Exercise Science with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from Ithaca College.

After finishing graduate school, Jon completed an internship under Lee Taft as a Sport Performance Coach, before coming on as an assistant Sport Performance Coach and Sports Skills Director in the summer of 2007. Jennifer Taft, Director of Business Development, earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Science and Athletic Training from Indiana University with an extensive background as a Certified Athletic Trainer. In addition to providing personal training to individuals and improving athletic development of athletes, she also has experience in rehabilitating injured athletes. She spent several years working as a certified athletic trainer at the high school and college level.

As the Director of Business Development, Jennifer is responsible for overseeing the production and distribution of all marketing materials, as well as managing the Web site. Jennifer also oversees the financial side of the business. In addition to her position, Jennifer is co-owner of Sports Speed, Etc., Inc. and Lee Taft Speed Academy. Jennifer is also the Director of Business Development for SSE with similar duties.

Cynthia Vaughn, Marketing Director, completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University. She has seven years of experience in Marketing in the higher education sector. Working for a regional campus of Indiana University, Cynthia oversaw all marketing of the campus, including advertising, publications, public relations and the campus Web site.

As Director of Marketing, Cynthia oversees all advertising, publications and copywriting as well as assists with electronic communications. She now owns her own business, Creative Vibes Marketing, in addition to assisting with the marketing of Sports Speed, Etc., Inc. and Lee Taft Speed Academy, Inc.
