Lee
Taft Speed Academy devotes itself to the proper development of young
athletes and we back our decision with scientific, practical and
proven techniques. We believe our system is the right one for your
child. As
stated earlier, we do not want to fool you into believing we can
make lasting changes in a short “six-week program.” Although
there is value in learning basic techniques within a short program,
we realize in order for motor programs to be properly engrained in
the nervous system athletes need to have longer exposures to
training. Don’t be misguided into thinking your son or daughter made lasting
improvements in only a few weeks when some improvement was seen. You
must realize any new exposure to training can bring about a positive
response simply because it is new and the nervous system likes new
stimulus. If the training exposure is stopped chances are the
improvements will diminish and it will not be a long-term
adaptation. This is why LTSA believes we must train for the long
term and not use a quick “hit or miss” approach, which is so
commonly used.

Lee Taft
Speed Academy partners with diverse organizations and individuals to
be a leader for positive change in the future of our youth. We
educate participants on the benefits of a proven long-term
developmental approach that will bring safer and stronger results.
With our sound developmental approach, athletes will have far
greater potential to reach their athletic, physical and emotional
goals for a lifetime.

Lee Taft
Speed Academy is built on years of practical and scientific
experience working with athletes of all ages. We believe a long-term
development approach begins with a foundation and builds with
progressive steps meeting the physical, emotional and mental
developmental stage of the athlete. By following a sound approach,
together we can map out a plan for successful results and ensure a
lifelong future of quality physical abilities.
